Faith Development

The following two articles were published following the completion of my Doctor of Ministry project, Faith Development and Ministry with Adults in their Middle Years (1987, Andover-Newton Theological School). If anyone is curious enough to want to read the whole research project (140 pages) I have a copy available for loan or there is one in Andover-Newton’s Library.  It includes a good survey chapter on theorists of adult development (Freud, Jung, Erikson, Levinson, Fowler, etc…)  The following articles give a brief summary of the results. It was this project that led me into the path of spiritual formation.

The following article was written as a way of sharing the spiritual growth that may come from external influences, particularly being immersed in a completely different culture for an intensive week of working together in mission.

I have read your both your articles and would welcome the opportunity to print and share them with the leadership of my church. Both to encourage as we are a ‘wee’ bit more vocal and willing to work through conflict in an effort to know the mind of Christ for our church and to address some of our weakness in the light of understanding we are not the exception in our struggles.

Diana, it is good to hear from you. You certainly may make use of the articles and I hope they stimulate some good discussion. Please give my best wishes to all your family.
